Headlines for writing copy is the single most important start point for the rest of what you write. It is your road map to how your sale letter is going to flow. Also, it is either going to tell the prospect what to expect or it is going to leave them with a question mark.

A lot goes in to coming up with great headlines, taking the time to study how other people write, how your favorite blogs or websites write is a great place to start your research. Long before you ever started your own online business, you had probably researched extensively other sites. Think back to those sites that interested you most, and how they structured their writings. There was a reason you kept going to certain sites.

Ask yourself, what kept you reading and or engaged in the content? I am not a great writer myself, and writing good headlines and writing great copy is a never ending learning process. However it is one of the most important skills any business owner could learn.

You are going to work very hard to get traffic to your online business. You are going to want to take full advantage of the traffic that you receive. There is better way to do that, then to improve on your copy. Our businesses are all about converting customers to buyers in the end.

So just what is your headline suppose to accomplish? For starters, it needs to grab their attention, make them stop. It also needs to tell a them a story that will lead them into the rest of the story. It needs to naturally enhance the page and lead the reader step by step through the process. it must keep them engaged.

There are 100′s of different ways to write a headline and some of the best advice I could give do the importance of writing headlines is to shift your thinking a bit and start paying attention to those emails you receive and blogs and web sites you visit and see if you can gleen any particular trend in the writing.

As always, To your success!
