Thanks for coming by today. I want cover something today that scares a lot people who have websites or blogs and that’s copy writing. And I have to be honest here, it was a big road block for me when I began almost 5 years ago with an online business.

Now here’s the thing. And I don’t like to talk in these terms because every facet of your business is important. But if someone was to back me in a corner, and ask what I thought was the most important things to succeeding online, I absolutely would have to fess up that Traffic and Writing good Copy are at the very top.

Now having said that, if your getting the traffic but you still have a bad feeling about the results, more often than not it is your copywriting. It’s dull or its boring, or it simply doesn’t get to the point where your asking your visitor to take some action, and do it in a way as to not offend and to not over hype. I personally am turned right off by over hyping sales copy. One of the way to get around the over hype is with benefits but but lets not turn that into a dull exercise either.

So what do you do and where do you go from here. Some suggestions for you, take a look at your bullets and your sub heads, what are they actually telling the visitors?? Ask yourself if little tweaks would make the difference or not. Writing copy is an art and it is a learned skill and yes anyone can learn it. There is a reason top copywriters fetch fees of $3000.00 to $10,000.00 dollars for writing copy for a web business. In most cases I believe it worth every penny that is spent especially if its  turning a larger percentage of your site visitors into buyers.

Effective copy writing is a process of writing and creating and formatting content that is promoting you and your business or websites. Every copywriter is different, but the ultimate goal is the same. The goal in copy writing is to persuade someone to take that action that you are asking them to take. This means you want the audience reading your material to buy a product, subscribe to the websites mailing list, or become a member of that business or website.

When writing copy it has to fulfill your prospects need for information and has to be structured in way that your prospect wins and you win at the same time. Your goals are to motivate someone to do something. Keep in mind always, that writing copy is a business within its self and it pays very, very well. When you know how to do it and do it well, you can write your own ticket. Now not only should you be writing copy that sells and gets action, you should also be writing to please the search engines. Your  keyword phrases and selection are just as important for search engine placement.
