I was thinking just the other day how persuasive I was as a child. Your first 10 years on this earth turned you into a master copywriter with out even knowing it. Thinking back it was a rare instance that I didn’t get what it was that I pitching to my folks. I am sure if you sit down and think back at how good were at the art of persuasion you’ll be pretty impressed at your closing ratio.

Sure some of it may have taken a little time but you won. I believe that everything we ever needed to know about writing effective copy is already in our possession. We have simply lost our understanding of it. You know what you want, you knew how to push the right buttons and you knew exactly how to close.

It was all about wheeling and dealing and we were good at it. So what has changed today and why do we have so many problems applying what we already know to what we are doing today. The quick answer is over complication. Rather then applying what should be natural we have built resistance on ourselves rather than think of it like we performed as a child.

If you are a parent take a hard look at your own child and what they do when they something form you and how they go getting and it will certainly conjure up many, many memories. I there are 2 types of copywriters today.

The introverted copy-writers deal more with facts to make their case rather than the extroverted writer that writes with enthusiasm to accomplish his or her goals. So which one are you? and how can you apply the child persuader inside of you to accomplish your writing goals online. Howe are you going to incorporate a balance between the introverted writer and the writer that is enthusiastic?

The very best way I know how to put all this together to its biggest benefit is to write like you were sitting across the table from a friend and explaining things over a cup of coffee. You want to make this conversation comfortable, while at the same time driving home the benefits and making a strong case of how they lose by not taking the action you are recommending.

So take the time to think about about the child side and your accomplishments and mix it in with adult side that wants to keep some of those doors closed and let your enthusiasm shine through a bit more than you might have usually done. Our adult mind tends to want to keep certain doors closed and stifle our writing.
