2009 is here and what changes are you going to make to your online business that would have the most profound effect on your income? There are really only a couple things I can think of that would have the most profound effect on any online business. First would be a substantial increase in traffic and secondly would be your ability to convert a much higher percentage of your traffic.

I mean when it comes right down to it, putting together a website or a blog boils down to following a set up process and finding profitable products to offer. Its more mechanics than anything else and with today’s blogging platforms it is pretty easy to put soemthing together and when it comes to static sites then most hosting companies make straight forward with drop and drag kind of tools to make it happen quickly and painlessly.

But the single most important part of any site or blog is the written word and how well your copy writing performs. After all this is about making money for most of us. Whether your an affiliate marketer or your offering up a product that you created in a hot and hungry target market, your copy writing is what is going to make things happen. We all get caught up in the fast pace of doing business online and with so many things to do and so many distractions, we often forget some things. Sometimes we gotta sit back and ask ourselves a few questions. Here is what I mean.  Is our site doing all it can based on the amount of traffic that we are pulling in. Are there things that we could be doing to what we have already done that could vastly improve the results.

When running an online business venture it is all about testing and tweaking until it is performing at its best. Now when asking yourself these questions be a bit hard yourself and figure out if you personally have done all you can. Do you know your target market the way you should? Have you spent time on chat rooms to find out what your target market is talking about and the do you know your target audience the way you should? The lingo they use and the age group that hangs out there and what they are talking about. This is valuable, valuable information. If your interested in placing high in the search results then keyword research is an essential element when you are creating a web page or article or press release. Keywords and keyword phrases are those words and phrases that someone is most likely to type in their search bar to find information on their subject of interest.

Now you are not going to hit the ace each and every time. But if you are diligent and keep after it, over time you’ll find your site starting to climb the search pages. Make Your Web Copy Clear and Concise!

You have been a copy writer all your life and may not have even known it. We use it convey Ideas and we use it to get what we want. The one thing with being a copy writer is to create copy that is very clear in its intentions and very concise. Each piece of copy that you write, must have a good conversational flow to it and flow in a way that one benefit leads comfortably to the next.

Copy Writing is essentially salesmanship in print. People must be able to understand your copy and the benefit your product or service is going to bring them. There are a few things you can do that help in improving your skills after you have written your control.

Typically what I do, is I have 2 or more people read my copy prior to putting it up for everyone to see. You will quickly find that there are things that may come back to you that you may not have thought of. Don’t take things personally when your copy is critiqued.
