This is all about research. You have to have some ideas or you probably wouldn’t be considering an online business venture to begin with. Or maybe not, you just know you want to do something online.

There are 3 basic elements that one has to take into account. First, is there a market or a need for your idea, How much competition do you have and are people paying money to advertise? This is going to tell you right away quick if it is worth the investigation.You also want to know just how much competition there really is, and how you can create a unique selling position in the market.  

Again its all about the research. It’s about spending time researching your ideas, going to related forums and websites and blogs to gain clarity on exactly how others are addressing the marketing idea you have.
