When you have an online business you do not have the perks of selling your product in person. Therefore, your words are very important, they make or break a sale. Writing up a sales letter means getting into the minds of your readers. Unlike when your sitting in front of them listening to what they have to say and being able to handle any objections that may arise.
Writing your sales letter you have to do that way ahead of time and you have to anticipate. You should know who your customer base is, what age group, gender, etc. You need to use psychology and tactics that will draw your readers to buy immediately. Copy writing is one of the single most important things one could learn for their online business. This is truly an art form and can make the difference between massive success and ho-hum success. Now, having said that, there are a few ways to go about this process.
You could hire a copywriter to perform this task for you, but do your homework. If this is in fact the route you choose, be sure to get references and check these things out. Talk to customers get their opinions and feed back. This is a must. You have to find out what kind of results others have received. And be prepared for a hefty price tag. Writing to please the search engines is a very important aspect of writing good copy. It’s all about good content and also writing to please your readership as well and it isn’t all that difficult to accomplish. However here in lies the problem in ranking well in the search engines. Firstly, most when writing and focusing on keywords go the basic route, and use the most popular keywords. This is a huge mistake. Just how easy do you think it is going to be to rank? I am at a point now where writing to please the search results isn’t as important and it takes a long time to get there. However when I do write to please the search results, then I use keyword elite to find long tail keywords that are easy to rank for. You simply have to bite the bullet sometimes to and grab the right tools. Read the rest of this entry

Are you able to talk about your business in a convincing way or do you find this beyond your scope of capabilities? Well the good news is this. You have been a copy writer all your life and may not have even known it. We use it convey Ideas and we use it to get what we want. The one thing with being a copy writer is to create copy that is very clear in its intentions and very concise. Each piece of copy that you write, must have a good conversational flow to it and flow in a way that one benefit leads comfortably to the next.
Copy Writing is essentially salesmanship in print. People must be able to understand your copy and the benefit your product or service is going to bring them. There are a few things you can do that help in improving your skills after you have written your control.
Typically what I do, is I have 2 or more people read my copy prior to putting it up for everyone to see. You will quickly find that there are things that may come back to you that you may not have thought of. Don’t take things personally when your copy is critiqued. But if all of your proof readers come back with the same recommends, then its time to listen. Read the rest of this entry
