For the past few years there really hasn’t been anything new come down the pike in internet marketing, not really. Sure people are saying and exciting secrets, but in all honesty it really is over hyped and rehashed information that has been around for a very long time. Having been online now for almost 5 years the only thing that has really hit the net that has had a massive impact is the advent of Web 2.0 and its ever evolving definition of exactly What Web 2.0 is.  Seems no one has a truly clear handle nor definition for it.

How I see it is this “Social Connection” Its the taking advantage of social media and networks to build a business and or friendships online. There is a social network for darned near anything you can think of and its about connecting with like minded people in your area of interest.

Blogging as a  social platform is another form of Web 2.0 unlike regular websites this medium allows for interaction with your customer base, allowing you the opportunity to create stronger relationships with your prospects. Ever wished you could inject your article marketing efforts with steroids and put it into overdrive. Well that is exactly what blogging can do for your business. I have mentioned this on a couple of my other blogs. I was very slow on picking up on the inherent benefits of blogging. Never being one to jump on any fad, in this instance it cost me.

Huge benefit #1 The search engines absolutely love blogs, they are attracted to the fact that there are frequent updates of information. Prior to blogging I simply used regular mini-sites and when checking stats found that google would stop by each day, but what I found very interesting with blogging is, they are running a spider through my blogs no less than twice a day and more often then not they come through 3 times in a 24 hour period. Blogging as a business model and how it can benefit your online business and drive tons of traffic to already existing website. It really doesn’t matter what kind of business model you have chosen, attaching a blog to it, will in a very short period time increase your exposure, and help you climb that ladder of search results.

So what is blogging exactly? Well, in the beginning it was more of a personal online journal, where you jotted down your thoughts. But over the past couple of years the smart ones have applied this to business applications with tremendous results. I have to be honest, I was very slow on the uptake on this one.

However, since I have been blogging I have a found out a couple things. Firstly it is an addictive pursuit, The other thing that I find so attractive about blogs, is the search engines love affair with them, and when you post regularly, at least every couple days or so, the search engines spider you often.
