Too often bloggers complain that after a great start, a year later their blog is as dead as can be. This is a common problem that almost always revolves around a small list of common mistakes made by the blogger. A blogger can sit back and expect the blog to do all of the work for him or her, which is a terrible way to approach blogging. A successful blogger would tell you that great blogging takes a certain amount of dedication and hard effort to make it work. You have to put effort into a blog to sustain it, especially after the first month or so of completing the design. Many people work so hard during the initial design phase that they get lazy after it is complete. To avoid this happening to your blog, check out these five common mistakes that can bury a blog.

Infrequent Updates- “I have been falling down a bit in this arena”

One of the biggest mistakes a blogger can make is to “forget” about posting. The most successful blogs are updated with new posts frequently.  Some larger blogs are constantly being updated. You should try to create new posts as often as possible. This blog for instance I used to post just about every day and with over 300 post it does pretty well.  There is more than enough information to keep the readership busy. However, for some it may be just too much to post daily, but if you can at least get a post out every other day it is good practice, especially when just starting a new blog.

Too Much Advertising

Most bloggers today do want to make a profit from their blog. This is a trend that can get out of control quickly however. If you are interested in adding ads to your blog, do so with caution. There is nothing wrong with a few appropriately places ads that offer viewers links to places that correlate with your blog’s content. However, adding a massive amount of advertisements on your blog is a mistake. If you have a bunch of flashy ads on your blog, your content will get lost within the hoopla. Therefore, you should always limit your ads to three or less per page. Make sure you place them in appropriate places that let your content shine through. Don’t allow enormous ads to fill up your pages either. They will simply annoy readers. Be smart about including advertising on your blog!

Six Ways to Find More Hours in Your Day

A couple of weeks ago, I told you about my “BeBiz Challenge” — in which I challenge YOU to build a money-making website from scratch in 28 days or less. (If you follow my proven 4-step system, I guarantee you can do it!)

… Ever since then, I’ve been getting emails that say something like:

“A money-making website in 28 days??? Easy for you to say! You’re able to dedicate yourself 24 hours a day to your business — but me, I’m already working a full-time job that leaves me exhausted at the end of the day, plus I have a family who needs me.

… With all these demands on my time, how can *I* ever build a profitable business in just 4 weeks???” I hear you… When you’re already doing everything you can to keep your head above water — but that ever-growing “to-do” list of yours keeps dragging you down — the idea of taking on a massive new project can seem pretty daunting.

(Even when you KNOW the rewards of completing that project will be HUGE.)

However, I want you to know that no matter HOW busy you are, you can always squeeze more hours out of your day. You just have to know where to find those hidden hours — and then make the best possible use of them!

Here are 6 “time-finder” tips that will help you cross those items off your “to-do” list as quickly and efficiently as possible, so you can devote more time on the work that REALLY matters… Building your very own money-making website!

Time-finder tip #1: Turn off your email! Email is a HUGE distraction… every time you hear that little “ding” that announces a new email, it interrupts your thoughts and makes it harder to get back into the same productive mindset.

Set yourself specific times to check your email and respond to it (if ABSOLUTELY necessary — otherwise, ignore it). When I’m in a time crunch, I only check my email at 9:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and then at 5:00 p.m., just before I leave work. That way I don’t have to deal with endless distractions during the day.

… And I figure if someone who’s emailed me REALLY wants to get in touch with me ASAP, they can always pick up the phone and call me!

Out Of The Rat Race and Into The Chips

So you’re getting lots of emails I bet.

And not that I’m psychic or anything but I’m pretty sure they all have a common theme…”Buy something from XYZ person.”

And there are probably screen caps with dollar amounts that make your eyes pop out and your emotions soar to Saturn just anticipating buying that mansion the new Jag and a hot tub the size of a swimming pool.

Let’s apply some logic here to see how we CAN get you in the chips and out of the rat race.

Some of you NEWBIES who aren’t used to my style or ezine, let me explain. I sometimes write colloquially on purpose. I feel it gets a point across.

This issue is written deliberately with very casual language and spelling BECAUSE I have a VERY simple message than I’m really passionate about. If you want more detailed info, see the “cheat sheets” on my blog at: http://www.marlonsnews.com

Many years ago I was in your shoes. I was buying all the information products and books I could find. Of course, at the time, that wasn’t many because the Internet didn’t exist.

Traffic is the holy grail for generating a full time income online! Marlon Sanders covers his steps and how he used this formula to generate 199,540 Optin Subscribers and produced over a million in revenue. You will find his cheat sheet very helpful and an easy formula to follow. Marlon has been at the internet marketing game for over 10 years now and been creating fulltime income long before 99 percent of all other marketers online!

Here’s Marlon’s cheat sheet for generating leads online:

1. First you need to know how much you can afford to spend to get someone to join your email list.

a. After people opt in, you’re going to present them with an immediate offer, either on the thank you page, or the page after they confirm their email.

I’m going to call this “sale 1.”

a. Count the total revenue generated from sale 1, including upsells and downsells. This is the KEY. When they buy sale 1, it’s critical you immediately have upsells and downsells.

b. For example sake, let’s say after they opt in, you present an offer for $27 and, on average, including a $250 upsell and $50 downsell (if they decline the $250 offer), you net out $50.

If you’re converting 10% of opt ins, that is $5 per opt in. Now, you know you can conservatively spend $2.50 to get an opt in. I’m going to use this $2.50 as an example. You have to calculate your own numbers.

Return To Simplicity by Marlon Sanders

Let’s return to simplicity. There are all kinds of complicated things you can do to market online. But let’s just look at the simple things we know work. The following formula will work for you whether you have your OWN products to sell or you’re promoting affiliate products.

There are 6 basic things you gotta know to get your Formula working for you:

1. Who is your target audience? This is the FIRST thing you have to know. Who BUYS what you’re selling. In today’s world, this is easy to find.

a. You search Google for the keywords people interested in buying what you hope to sell are likely searching
for.

b. You take the top 10 web sites under those keywords.

c. You go to Quantcast.com and type in the URL’s.

Now you know who your audience is.

2. What do they want to buy

a. Go back to the SAME websites in step one.

b. Look at what they’re selling.

c. Now you know what people want to buy.
