Taking Niche Marketing a Step Further

Some misconceptions with niche marketing and one of the biggest problems I have seen, is that when deciding on a niche, they don’t do enough research. When trying to identify a profitable niche you have to dig pretty deep and you have to do a lot of research on forums and keyword research to find out exactly what you niches problems are that you are able to solve.

For someone starting out, finding a smaller segment of a larger niche is definitely the way to improve your odds of succeeding, but make sure there is an audience for your product, whether your creating your own product or your promoting an affiliate product it is so important that you understand the problems your audience is having and how you and the product you are promoting is going to solve it.
Identify what your possible prospects are looking for.

This is critical in being able to either launch your own product or having the ability to promote an affiliate product. One of the simplest ways to find out this information is to spend some time on some forums. Typically you aren’t going to find out everything you need to know in an afternoon, however if you can take a close look at the threads within the forum you’ll find out what is going on in that niche and be able to identify possible pains and ills this audience is suffering from.

Forums is where the buyers reside and this could also tell you if this audience is willing to spend money in this niche it will let you know if they in fact are already spending money to solve any issues they are trying to overcome. You’ll often see recommendations for products that worked for them. Another thing you could do is use Google Adwords and do a short and to the point survey that will help you identify what they are willing spend money on to solve their problems.

You could also use clickbank and do a little keyword research there and find out what kinds of products are already being offered to that niche and if there are quite a few that may mean that this is profitable place to be. You’ll also quickly find out what these products are selling for and if it is worth it to try to enter the niche.
